Furniture Buyer Files Case Against Seller

Muhammad Saeed, furniture buyer, filed a case against furniture proprietor over shoddy workmanship, claiming Rs 300,000 as damages.

The petitioner had purchased furniture of worth Rs 150,000, but cracks emerged in furniture after a few months. When Saeed tried to contact the seller for complaining about the quality of furniture, the proprietor put off the matter and refused to compensate the buyer.

In response to the case filed, the consumer court has issued a notice to the proprietor accusing him of selling poor-quality furniture to the claimant.

Saeed had requested the court to issue orders to the seller to return Rs 150,000 (price of furniture) and pay an additional amount of Rs 150,000 in terms of damages.
