There are various celebrated furniture brands in our country which produce high-quality furniture items espousing latest and unique designs. Some manufacturers adopt manual approaches in their production process, while others use automated techniques to produce high-quality furniture. And Interwood Mobel is one such furniture brand, which pays serious heed to latest technology and uses it in its production process.
The brand does not only produce furniture items but also Italian kitchens using its fully automated production line. According to Interwood Mobel Brand Manager Mr Danial Shaikh, use of technology has helped the company become a leading market player.
When wood is processed manually during the manufacturing process, the moisture remains behind, affecting the long-term utility of furniture. However, in Interwood Mobel the wood is cut and dried with machines, which makes the wood clear of any moisture in its core.
Interwood Mobel was founded in 1947 in Lahore and has extended its services across the country since. Though the company owns six showrooms, it has also given authorized dealerships to businessmen in Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Abottabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad.
The furniture industry has expanded manifolds in the past few years. Though there is no official data to measure the size of the industry in monetary terms, a rough estimate is that the industry’s worth is more than $2 billion.
According to Mr Sheikh, 15,000 housing units have been approved alone in Karachi for the fiscal year 2016, which signifies that the furniture market has promising prospects.
Interwood Mobel produces high-quality home and office furniture. Its kitchens and doors also contribute notably to the overall revenue of the company.
The company plans to expand its business to other countries such as India, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Considering the fact that Interwood Mobel enjoys a prominent market share, its revenue figure must be huge.
