Pakistan furniture industry is worth $1 Billion in terms of exports: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Almas Hyder told reporters that the wood furniture industry of Pakistan has a potential to generate $1 Billion from exports with proper support from the government.
He also said that the government needs to give interest-free loans to young people who want to excel in the furniture industry. He added that these furniture enthusiasts should be given opportunities to invest in the Special Economic Zones of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, so that furniture manufacturing setups could be established in these zones.
He extended cooperation from LCCI towards the furniture industry to provide people with a level playing field, which will result in strengthening the national exchequer. Hyder also emphasized on the fact that young entrepreneurs are required to promote Pakistani brands in foreign markets, so that better results could be achieved.
He added that with the incorporation of trailblazing factors, little investment and proper government support, better employment opportunities can be created in the furniture industry.
